Here are some quotes and my thoughts from one chapter of the book, "Irresistable Revolution" by Shane Claiborne. You all should read it!!
" But dear children, do not tiptoe. Run, hop, skip, dance, just don't tiptoe."-Wow. This is powerful. Don't tiptoe through life. What does this mean? I think, spiritually. Don't keep God to yourself, and stay in that comfortable "tip-toeing" position. Share Jesus. Run, hop, skip, dance the gospel!! And I fail at this miserably. But, I"m trying."...a God who is not at all safe, but a God who is good."- God isn't nessacarily safe. He calls people to be missionary in some foreign land where they could be persecuted. HE calls people like Shane to live in the inner cities or to to Iraq. But He is a good, gracious God. He takes care of us, He loves us unconditionally. How amazing is that?! If God was a safe God, people wouldn't be doing crazy, dangerous, amazing things for Him!
"Whenever someone mentions his or her name, our eyes twinkle and our hearts jump- that kind of shudder. Jesus, the one I long to fall asleep cuddling with, run off into the woods with, live and die with- my lover."-So true. Especially for girls. I mean, i Know for me it is. Most girls want that Mr. Right, my prince, to come fill that desire in our hearts that only God can fill. I want Jesus to fully satisfy me. I have failed over and over again in the aspect of letting guys be the one to put a twinkle in my eyes, give me goosebumps. I want Jesus to put a twinkle in my eye, and give me goosebumps.
"...that instead we are to be extaordinary and hang out with the not-so-cool, the people sitting in the lunchroom alone, folks who talk to themselves and have distinct aromas."-Doing this is hard. I don't know about for you guys, but for me it sure is! How easy would it be to sit back and just have sympathy for those not-so-cools, than go up and touch their lives, even if it means risking your own "coolness". But, in the big picture, who in high school will remember if you ranked 10 on the coolness list? How much "cooler" would it be to have someone remember you as the girl who sat by the geek at the lunch table because she was sitting alone?! Which follows this quote, "Christians are not called to be cool. We are called to be extraordinary."

President.
So, the election was yesterday. Obama won. Yes, yes, we know. "I'm going to move out of the country" "What has this country gotten itself into" are these things I keep reading and hearing. Yes, maybe Obama is not the best presidential choice.
All we can do is pray.
Pray that God will give this guy wisdom and discernment to lead this country.
I'm not big into politics, mostly because they confuse me :) but, all I know is that God is soveriegn and obviously, he had a plan for Barrack Obama.
So, to all you who are complaining about him being president, remember that God has it under control.
